About me, how I work with people
I started in journalism and have spent more than twenty years working in public sector communications. That’s included crisis response, long-term planning, public engagement and moments of real pressure. I’ve worked closely with councillors, leaders and community teams to shape messages that hold up when it counts.
I’m practical, calm and honest. I bring clear thinking, strong judgement and a steady hand to every brief. I care about doing the work well, staying grounded and helping people communicate clearly when the stakes are high. I focus on impact, not noise, and I always keep the real-world context in view.
What I bring to every project
Calm under pressure
I stay steady when tone, timing and clarity really matter.
Story-led and people-first
I started in journalism, and believe every message starts with listening.
Knows the local landscape
I understand how Cornwall works, practically, politically and culturally.
Straightforward, always
No spin. Just honest, well-judged communication that lands well.
Who I’m working with
I work with organisations that serve people and place, councils, charities, schools and purpose-led teams rooted in their communities. Most of my clients are based here in Cornwall or the wider South West, but the work often touches national conversations and complex systems.
Whether it’s public announcements, local campaigns or sensitive internal change, I help organisations communicate with honesty, clarity and care. The logos below represent some of the people I’ve supported over the years, often during moments that mattered.
